Notarial Officer

A Notarial Officer is a person commissioned by our Office to perform notarial acts in New Mexico, the most common of which is to witness and attest to the authentic signing of documents. The responsibilities of Notarial Officers are essential to the functioning of legal, business, financial, and real estate transactions. Important information

Effective June 16, 2023, there will be changes to the Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts to comply with Senate Bill 246-Chapter 110 that were made in the 2023 Legislative Session. These changes include redefining roles of Notarial Officers and Notaries Public, clarifying Official Stamp requirements, and other changes.
